JOAN FITZPATRICK

Chair

Joan is an experienced company director, CEO and leader of business success. Her executive and director experience covers the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors and she has a strong track record of working collaboratively across sectors. Her working experience covers a diverse range of industries, including fast-moving consumer goods, heavy manufacturing, engineering, risk management, project management, procurement, insurance, financial services, education and government. Her capability has been honed in various international settings and she has had more than 25 years’ experience of conducting business successfully in Asia and China in particular.

 

Joan has more than 25 years of experience as a Board Director. She is valued for her 40 years of commercial business experience; her specific skills in strategy, risk and governance; her fulfilment of APRA’s fit and proper person requirements; her values-based participation, integrity and courage and her personal skills which build strong mutual trust with fellow directors and executive teams.

In addition to her Board roles, she is a much sought-after consultant to a range of organisations specialising in strategy, leadership development and change management.

She has had oversight and leadership roles within each of the Boards she has served, ensuring sound governance and compliance systems are established and maintained, whilst encouraging and supporting sophisticated strategic direction. In addition, she is a keen advocate for the careful appointment, development and growth of the CEO and executive teams, seeing this activity as a key measure of Board success.
