Leadership Collective Australia

A modern CFO must operate at the intersection of strategy, risk, and performance. This informal program equips CFOs with the knowledge, perspective, and peer network to navigate increasing complexity while unlocking value across the organisation. CFO Roundtable is a confidential CFO peer group that will benefit you in three ways: • Strategic Insight Beyond the Numbers: engage with fellow CFOs across industries to challenge assumptions, uncover financial and operational blind spots, and strengthen high‑stakes decisions with diverse, experience-based perspectives. • Safe Space for Complex Financial and Leadership Challenges: discuss sensitive issues such as capital allocation, board expectations, transformation initiatives, and risk management in a confidential environment free from internal politics or judgment. • Professional Growth and Leadership Impact: stay sharp and forward-looking through regular peer engagement that fosters accountability, broadens commercial acumen, and enhances your influence as a strategic partner to the CEO and board.

Chris Baddock

Chair
CFO Roundtable

I’ve spent more than three decades leading high‑performance organisations across FMCG and the drinks industry, including senior executive and CEO roles across both supply and retail. Most recently, I served as CEO of Australian Liquor Marketers (Metcash), and today I remain closely connected to the industry through board and advisory roles. Having operated at scale where financial discipline, commercial outcomes, and organisational performance are closely linked, I feel strongly about the critical role CFOs play. The modern CFO is far more than a steward of the numbers - the role demands strategic thinking, sound judgement, and the confidence to influence decision-making at the highest level. Put simply, my role as Chair is to facilitate six focused and highly practical meetings over the course of a year. We concentrate on supporting CFOs to operate as stronger commercial leaders - making better decisions, managing risk more effectively, and driving sustainable performance. A typical meeting includes: Thought leadership - I introduce scenarios grounded in real-world commercial and organisational challenges to help Members navigate complexity, risk, and performance trade-offs. Member spotlight - a Member shares a live commercial or financial issue for structured discussion, drawing on the collective experience of the group. Expert speakers and themed workshops - sessions focused on areas such as capital allocation, performance, transformation, and leadership effectiveness. A confidential forum - CFOs engage in open, peer-to-peer discussion, testing thinking and working through complex issues in a trusted, commercially grounded environment.
